Bring your yoga mat, blanket, pillow, blind fold, gemstones, water, snack, etc. to create your personal sound journey & movement area. Spacing guidelines will be in affect for those concerned and The Shepherd Center asks masks to be worn upon entry and when engaging with others.
We will begin with a 20 to 30 minute talk discussing the beauty of free form movement and stillness, of sound and silence, of harmony and dissonance.
Next, we will get set for the free form, Ecstatic Movement to music specially tuned to bring us more into alignment with nature and each other. The movement is self guided, often with blindfolds, or eyes closed so you’re not tempted to look at others and do any comparing. This is an internal experience with movement and sound. Move as you feel, no one will be guiding your movements, tempo or style. Dance with the music, how it speaks to you. (20 to 30 minutes)
Next, we will sit or lie down and come into stillness. Close your eyes, relax and release as Alexander begins playing indigenous instruments from all over the world in an intuitively guided and spontaneous manner, creating sounds using crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, Native American flute, tingshas, didgeridoo, Indian sitar, chimes, bells, gong, drums, vocal toning and more. Releasing and calming the physical, mental, emotional, energetic and spiritual levels. We will wrap the evening up with a closing discussion.
